The Great and Wise Lizabeth  Short Term Memory Loss

       or The Second Snorf Story
Once upon a time, in a land down under, there was a lizard.  Now, you must be wondering, "Under what?"  I don't blame you for wondering that.  I certainly am.

My personal theory is that this lizard, Snorf by name, was in a land down under a rock.  Furthermore, if she was indeed down under this rock, as I suspect, a cat named Jeeks would have been with her.  In fact, I believe they were doing something together, this lizard and cat pair.

I will now tell you what I believe they were doing.  Snorf, the lizard of which I spoke in both of the previous two paragraphs, was sitting in her large, throne-like chair.  Two torches flickered green above her.  Her eyes were closed, although she sat with her back ramrod straight.

Jeeks, the cat I mentioned in the paragraph before last, was sitting in a cat-like lounging position on a pedestal nearby.  One could ask what Jeeks was thinking as she sat there, still as a statue.  Perhaps she was contemplating Plato, or Nietzsche.  Or maybe she was solving the problems of the world.  If the latter, she never had the chance to tell another soul, because there was a sudden explosion which knocked her off the pedestal and Snorf off her chair, causing both to smack their heads into many things and get partial amnesia.

The explosion didn't seem to have a source.  One moment the cave was silent and peaceful, the next the air was on fire (the flames were purple, by the way, due to the high magic content and intense heat and pressure of the air) and things were flying around the room (not burning, incidentally).

Not a hair on the head of Snorf or Jeeks was singed when they came to, and the flames were all gone.  Neither could remember why she was there or how she had gotten there.  Both remembered important things, like the number of Wheel of Time books yet published (39, with at least three more expected) and all of their titles, the name and phone number of every superhero then in existence (and there were quite a few), and the precise location of the pot of gold they stole and hid from a leprechaun.

Since the only two people who would know what was going on in the land down under both have amnesia, you can see why a lot of this is guesswork.  Based on the scorch marks on the walls, and various other clues, we have tried to deduce the actions and thoughts of Snorf and Jeeks, but it's not a simple task.

Moral: Burns are red, bruises blue, out with the old, cheated by the new!  Do you suffer from long term memory loss?  I don't remember...
